Guigal Côtes du Rhône Blanc 2012
If you're looking for a change from Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc there's a very tasty blend at Vintages – Guigal Côtes du Rhône Blanc 2012. Viognier, Roussanne, Marsanne, Bourboulenc, Grenache Blanc together make a wine that's light straw in colour with a nose of white flowers and peaches. The fruit is beautifully balanced with minerality, oak and acidity. A versatile food wine and good value at $18.95. Match it with Caesar salad or tuna tartar. That's Guigal Côtes du Rhône Blanc 2012 from France. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680News and 680News.com ($18.95, Vintages #290296)

Haselgrove First Cut Shiraz 2010
Here's a full-blooded, take-no-prisoners red wine from Australia for those BBQ nights – Haselgrove First Cut Shiraz 2010. It's dense ruby in colour with a pronounced peppery, blackberry nose. The fruit is richly extracted and full on the palate with blackberry and dark chocolate flavours finishing dry and firm. It costs $19.95 at Vintages outlets. An ideal wine for pepper steak or spicy marinated ribs. That's Haselgrove First Cut Shiraz 2010 from Australia. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680News and 680News.com. ($18.95, Vintages #367425)
