Nugan King Valley Frasca's Lane Chardonnay 2012
Nugan King Valley Frasca's Lane Chardonnay 2012 from Australia's Victoria region is a great value Chardonnay, more in Burgundy style than the usual hail-fellow-well-met character of Aussie wines. Straw in colour with a lime tint, it has a peach and toasty oak nose with a barnyard note; medium-bodied, fresh and lively on the palate, well balanced and crisply dry, it's a delicious wine for $19.95 at Vintages outlets. Serve it with grilled salmon. That's Nugan King Valley Frasca's Lane Chardonnay 2012 from Australia. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680News and 680News.com. ($19.95, Vintages #288191)

Loosen Brothers Dr. L Sparkling Riesling
If you're looking for an inexpensive summer sparkler here's a great recommendation: Loosen Brothers Dr. L Sparkling Riesling from Germany. Straw colour with a green tint, this bubbly has an oily, lime and honey nose with a lilac top note. It's elegant, light and lively, with great tension between sweetness and citrus acidity. It fairly dances on the palate. It costs $14.95 a bottle at Vintages outlets. Great with Thai food or simply as an aperitif. That's Loosen Brothers Dr. L Sparkling Riesling from Germany. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680News and 680News.com. ($14.95, Vintages #296095)
