Three wines from Chile this week:

MontGras Amaral Sauvignon Blanc 2014 (Chile)
$11.85 until November 9th, and then $13.85 (LCBO #367292)
From the cool, coastal Leyda Valley. Very pale lime colour; minerally, grassy, green fig and grapefruit nose; medium-bodied, crisply dry grapefruit flavour with a final flourish of elderberry. Good value. ****½ (89+)
Food match: oysters; ceviche

Perez Cruz Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva 2012 (Chile)
$15.95 (LCBO #694208)
From the Maipo Andes region, blended with 4% Carmenère and 1% Malbec. Deep ruby colour with a bouquet of blackcurrant and toasty oak; medium-bodied, elegant, juicy cassis flavour, lovely mouth-feel with a floral note on the finish. ****½ (89)
Food match: leg of lamb; gourmet burger

Cono Sur Bicicleta Viognier 2014 (Chile)
$9.95 (LCBO #64287)
Consistently one of the best value whites at the LCBO. Light straw colour with a nose of honeysuckle and white peach, flavours that are replicated on the palate; medium-bodied and dry on the finish. ****½ (89)
Food match: Asian dishes; chicken in a creamy sauce
