680News wine reviews – November 21–23, 2014

Perez Cruz Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva 2012
One of the best Chilean Cabernets for the price is Perez Cruz Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva 2012 from the Maipo Andes region. It's blended with a little Carmenère and Malbec. Deep ruby colour, the wine has a bouquet of blackcurrant and toasty oak; it's medium-bodied, elegant, with a juicy cassis flavour, lovely mouth-feel and an engaging floral note on the finish. It costs $15.95 at Vintages outlets. Match it with lamb or gourmet burgers. That's Prez Cruz Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva 2012 from Chile. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680News and 680News. com. ($15.95, Vintages #694208)

Cono Sur Bicicleta Viognier 2014
Consistently one of the best value whites at the LCBO is Cono Sur Bicicleta Viognier from Chile. The current 2014 vintage is light straw in colour with a nose of honeysuckle and white peach, flavours that are replicated on the palate. It's medium-bodied and dry on the finish. And at $9.95 a bottle you can't go wrong. You can serve it with Asian dishes or chicken in a cream sauce. That's Cono Sur Bicicleta Viognier 2014 from Chile. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680News and 680News. com. ($9.95, LCBO #64287)
