680News wine reviews – May 29–31, 2015

Bodega Volcanes de Chile Summit Reserve Rosé 2014
If you like dry rosé here's a wine that punches above its weight in terms of its quality for the price: Bodega Volcanes de Chile Summit Reserve Rosé 2014 currently at the LCBO for $9.95. The wine is flesh pink with a peach and citrus nose tinged with a mineral note. It's fruity and refreshing on the palate. An ideal wine for cold cuts and charcuterie – or something to sip while you wait for the BBQ to heat up. That's Bodega Volcanes de Chile Summit Reserve Rosé 2014 from – as the winery name suggests – Chile. For Post City Magazine, I'm Tony Aspler, 680News. ($9.95, LCBO #406678)

Errazuriz Aconcagua Alto Cabernet Sauvignon 2012
The new vintage of Errazuriz Aconcagua Alto Cabernet Sauvignon is the kind of wine you want to take to a BBQ. The 2012 vintage is a real extrovert Chilean red with concentrated blackcurrant and black plum flavours carried on lively acidity and wrapped in spicy, vanilla oak. It comes from the same vineyard that produces the Don Maximiano Cabernet but is a fraction of the price. It costs $19.95 at Vintages outlets. A great wine for pepper steak or spicy pork ribs. That's Errazuriz Aconcagua Alto Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 from Chile. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680News. ($19.95, Vintages #203364)
