SX·E Bianco Calabria (Italy)
$10.95 (LCBO #386995)
Pale straw colour with a nose of apple and minerals; aromatic green pineapple and crab-apple flavours; medium-bodied, dry and fresh on the palate. Not very complex blend but very tasty. ***½ (87)
Food match: roast chicken; fish stew

Strewn Gewurztraminer 2014 (Ontario)
$13.95 (LCBO #65359)
Gewurztraminer in Ontario is a hit-and-miss kind of thing but occasionally someone hits the bull's-eye. Pale straw in colour, it has that characteristic lychee and rose petal nose and Turkish delight flavour, finishing elegantly dry on a pear-like note. **** (88)
Food match: smoked salmon; Asian dishes.

La Posta Armando Bonarda 2014 (Argentina)
$14.95 (released on Saturday at Vintages #261586)
Purple-black in colour with a spicy, vanilla and black cherry nose. Medium-bodied and dry with good presence in the mouth, it has black plum and cherry flavours ending on a cedary note. ****½ (89)
Food match: red meat dishes; mature cheddar
