Pale straw colour; minerally, grapefruit and apple nose already developing petrol notes; light to medium-bodied, just off-dry, grapefruit flavour with a touch of honey. Lovely texture and a bargain at the price. ****½ (89)

Veedha Douro Red 2013 (Portugal)
$14.95 (LCBO #255851)
Deep ruby in colour, a dusty, earth, blackberry bouquet with a note of oak; full-bodied, dry and savoury, plum and mulberry flavours with oak spice; supple tannins on the finish. **** (88)
Food match: beef stew; fresh parmesan

Rabl Lengenlois Grüner Veltliner 2015 (Austria)
$14.95 (Vintages #377457 – released on Saturday, January 21st)
Pale straw colour; white pepper and green peach nose; medium-bodied, dry, beautifully balanced, apple and pear flavours; great mouth-feel. Great bargain for the quality. **** (88.5)
