Hillebrand Harvest Gewurztraminer 2002 (Niagara Peninsula, Ontario)
$9.95 (general release)
I had this wine with chicken curry recently and it was the perfect match.
Medium straw colour; floral, spicy nose, somewhat restrained but opens up on the palate with an off-dry, lychee and peach flavour, fruity and forward with decent length. Good value. *** (out of *****)
Food match: lightly curried dishes, Thai food

Mission Hill Private Reserve Pinot Blanc 2002 (British Columbia)
$11.45 (general release)
Medium straw colour with a nose of peach and red grapefruit; medium-bodied with ripe fruit flavours, clean lined with good refreshing acidity and a touch of spice on the finish. ***½
Food match: grilled cod, chicken salad.

Bolla Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 1998 (Veneto)
$32.95 (general release)
Purple-ruby colour holding to the rim; high-toned bouqet of sweet dates and earth; medium-bodied with layered flavours of cherries, mocha and violets ; firmly structured with a sweet raisiny finish. ****
Food match: pepper steak, blue cheeses
