Proud to Be a Chef

From November 10th through 15th, 2003, the First Annual Spirit of Hospitality Festival presents Proud to Be a Chef, a week-long celebration of food and wine featuring leading culinary talents from Canada and Australia. The festivities include a Celebrity Chefs Dinner, the luxurious Wine & Dine Gala, and the informative and entertaining Master Class Weekend.

On Monday, November 10th, the festival gets started with the sold-out Celebrity Chefs Dinner at the famous Eigensinn Farm, where renowned Canadian and Australian guest chefs and sommeliers join Chef Michael Stadtländer in his legendary kitchen for an exclusive eight-course tasting dinner with fine wine pairings.

On Wednesday, November 12, the Wine & Dine Gala gets started in mouthwatering style with the Fire and Ice Cocktail Reception, featuring an innovative twist on traditional hors d'oeuvres. With the luxurious grandeur of the Liberty Grand fueling their inspiration, the celebrity chefs' team, comprising twelve Canadian and Australian culinary legends, will present a unique six-course tasting menu for 400 honored guests. Each course will feature two chefs' signature dishes and will be matched by vintage wines selected with care by Australian celebrity wine experts Grant Van Every of Kooyong Wine and Bruce Wallner of Palazzo Versace, Gold Coast.

Saturday, November 15, rounds out the festival with the Master Class Weekend at The Renaissance Hotel, Toronto. This day-long series of lectures and demonstrations by master chefs and sommeliers, including Andrew Blake from Melbourne, Robert Clark of Vancouver's C Restaurant, and wine guru Grant Van Every, is a unique opportunity for participants to involve themselves in a variety of culinary learning experiences.

With a mandate to instill and nurture a love and appreciation for food and wine at its highest level, Spirit of Hospitality aims to offer something for every taste, from hospitality hopefuls and industry professionals, to consumers, and food and wine connoisseurs.
