South African Wine Society Wild Game and Wine Dinner

Faculty of Hospitality & Tourism, George Brown College

(between Jarvis & Sherbourne Streets on the north side of Adelaide – street parking or parking garage one block east)

The South African Wine Society will have as its guests members of Esso Annuitants Toronto North (EATN) in a dinner especially prepared to interest the gourmet in all of us. The culinary students of George Brown College, under the watchful eye of their professorial staff, will handle the dinner preparation and service. Wines especially selected to accompany each course will accompany the dinner.

Table places will be reserved upon arrival and each table will be shared to provide for interesting conversation between members of both SAWS and EATN groups.

This event is for the adventurous lover of fine food and good wines.

Our menu and wines:

  • Upon arrival, Fairview Viognier 2002
  • Duo of ostrich tartare, grilled and traditional with roasted peppered pear + Vergelegen Chardonnay 2002 & Landskroon Cinsault/Shiraz 2002
  • Warming bowl of pheasant consommé under a golden pastry dome + Hoopenberg Merlot 2001
  • Roast loin of venison with caramelized pecans and Pinotage jus + Bellevue Pinotage 1999 & Boschendal Cabernet Sauvignon 2000
  • St. Clements citrus sponge cake with poached fruits in Earl Grey tea broth with lemon curd ice + Graham Beck Rhona Muscadel 1998
  • Coffee and tea

Faculty of Hospitality & Tourism, George Brown College – Taste the delicacies of Toronto's future five-star chefs! Home to Toronto's most exclusive chef training programme, Siegfried's Dining Room bears comparison to the finest restaurants in the city. Its alumni include North 44's Mark McEwan, Jamie Kennedy and Dufflet's Pastries' Dufflet Rosenberg.

Cost for SAWS members is $80 per person. Guests of SAWS $90 per person.

Closing date for reservations, Friday, February 6.
