Lakeview Cellars Riesling 2003 (Ontario)
$11.95 (order through winerytohome.com or from the winery: 905-562-5685, lakecell@lakeviewcellars.on.ca)
Pale straw colour; citrus, minerally, grapefruit zest nose; dry, light-bodied with a hint of residual sweetness before the grapefruit acidity kicks in; good length to a lemony finish.
Food match: ceviche; poached salmon

Thirty Bench Mountainview Blush 2002 (Ontario)
$10.95 (at the winery, 905-563-1698, wine@thirtybench.com)
Ontario is not over-endowed with usual Blush wines, but this one is well made and a good entry level wine. Pink with a bluish tint in colour; sweet raspberry, leafy nose; medium-bodied with a candied raspberry flavour – on the sweet side but with enough acidity to give it interest. ***˝
Food match: ideal for spicy Thai, Mexican, Chinese and Indian dishes

Errazuriz Estate Shiraz 2002 (Chile)
$12.90 (General release)
Errazuriz was the first Chilean winery to release a Shiraz. Dense purple colour; smoky, tarry, blackberry and vanilla nose; firm blackberry and smoky taste, medium-bodied with good length. Good value. ***˝
Food match: BBQ lamb; pepper steak
