Terre Stregrate Svelato Falanghina del Sannio 2015
Falanghina is an ancient grape variety grown in the hills north of Naples. Just arrived at Vintages is Terre Stregrate Svelato Falanghina del Sannio 2015 – a mouthful in both senses of the word. Bright straw in colour, it has a spicy, pine needle and citrus nose. Medium-bodied and dry, well-balanced and fresh on the palate showing spicy melon and lemon flavours ending on a note of green nuts. It costs $16.95 in Vintages outlets and works well with grilled shrimp. That's Terre Stregrate Svelato Falanghina del Sannio 2015 from Italy. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680 NEWS. ($16.95, Vintages #486076) (90)

Franklin Tate Cabernet Merlot 2015
The Margaret River region of Western Australia makes wines in the Bordeaux style. Franklin Tate Cabernet Merlot 2015, newly listed at Vintages, is a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon and 47% Merlot. It's dense purple in colour with a nose of cedar, blackcurrant and vanilla oak. Medium-bodied and dry, it's very elegant, beautifully balanced and firm with good length. It costs $18.95 a bottle and is the perfect wine for lamb chops. That's Franklin Tate Cabernet Merlot 2015 from Australia at Vintages outlets. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680 NEWS. ($18.95, Vintages #489930) (90)
