Finca Las Palmas Gran Reserva Malbec 2014
There are currently 178 Malbecs carried by the LCBO – not all from Argentina but mostly. So what to choose? One of the best values in terms of price/quality is Finca Las Palmas Gran Reserva Malbec 2014 from Argentina's Uco Valley. Dense purple in colour, it offers a cedary plum bouquet with mocha-chocolate notes; medium to full-bodied and dry, it's well-structured with spicy plum flavours riding on lively acidity. It costs $16.95 at Vintages outlets and is perfect for grilled red meats. That's Finca Las Palmas Gran Reserva Malbec 2014 from Argentina. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680 NEWS. ($16.95, Vintages #186668) (89)

Zenato San Benedetto Lugana 2016
Recently I came across a delicious Italian white wine from Lugana on the south shore of Lake Garda. Zenato San Benedetto Lugana 2016 is made from a local grape called Trebbiano di Lugana, which is related to the Verdicchio family. Bright straw in colour, this wine has a minerally, green melon nose. It's medium-bodied, dry with ripe melon and lemon flavours. A well-balanced wine that sells at Vintages outlets for $17.95. Serve it with grilled fish or seafood dishes.
