Niagara Icewine Festival 

Friday, January 14, to Sunday, January 23, 2005

For ten days in January, the Niagara region is transformed into a wintry wonderland, celebrating one of Canada's most cherished products, Ontario Icewine.

From gala evenings, ornate ice bars and Icewine dinners, to roasting chestnuts, late night Icewine grape picking and carriage rides along Niagara's famed wine route, the 10th edition of the Niagara Icewine Festival offers plenty for every taste.

Join us as we celebrate the release of Ontario's award-winning Icewines at the following featured Niagara Icewine Festival events:

The Chubb Insurance Niagara Icewine Touring Passport
Along Niagara's Wine Route, January 15–23, 2005, $20 Cdn.
Enjoy nine days of celebration along Niagara's famous wine route with the Chubb Insurance Niagara Icewine Touring Passport featuring special tours, tastings and winery events focusing on Icewine. The C$20 Passports are good for complimentary and discounted events at all participating wineries. Weekend One: Winter in Wine Country

The 10th Annual Xerox "Images of Winter" Icewine Evening
Sheraton on the Falls Hotel in Niagara Falls, Ontario, on Friday, January 14, 2005, from 8 pm to 11 pm, $150 Cdn.
This spectacular evening showcases wines from more than 35 of Ontario's premier wineries and features Canada's largest tasting of internationally acclaimed Icewines and other premium wines from the 2003 Vintage of Excellence. Tickets are reasonably priced at $150 Cdn. per person.

The Niagara Icewine Bar presented by Twenty Valley Tourism
Saturday and Sunday, January 15 & 16, 12 noon to 5 pm, free admission
On each weekend of the Niagara Icewine Festival, an Icewine Bar will be constructed in two different unique locations in Niagara. This 18-foot decorative block of ice will be the cornerstone of the outdoor Icewine activities, which will include ice carving demonstrations, carriage rides, Niagara cuisine and entertainment, as well as over 20 wineries pouring their highly acclaimed Icewines. On the first weekend, January 15 and 16, the Icewine Bar is welcomed by Main Street in Jordan, a quaint village nestled in West Niagara at the foot of the escarpment. Jordan is home to some of the most highly regarded wineries in Ontario. Food, wine and great Niagara hospitality from noon to 5 pm, free admission.

Weekend Two: The Niagara-on-the-Lake Icewine Weekend
presented by Chubb Insurance Company of Canada

The 3rd annual Chubb Insurance ‘Tastes of Ontario' Icewine Dinner
Presented at the Queen's Landing in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, on Friday, January 21, from 7 pm to 10 pm, $175 Cdn.
Ontario's award-winning winemakers present an exclusive complement of wines paired with exceptional Niagara cuisine, presented by the chefs of the Vintage Inns. Guests are expertly guided by the winemakers and chefs themselves through a delicate seven-course repast, an experience which can only be equaled by the surroundings. Tickets are priced at $175 Cdn. per person.

The Chubb Insurance Icewine Bar and Café
Saturday and Sunday, January 22 & 23, 12 noon to 5 pm, free admission
On the second weekend of the Niagara Icewine Festival, the Chubb Icewine Bar and Café will be constructed in Niagara-on-the-Lake. These decorative blocks of ice will be the cornerstone of the outdoor Icewine activities, which will include ice carving demonstrations, Niagara cuisine and entertainment, as well as over 20 wineries pouring their highly acclaimed Icewines. Historic Queen Street in Niagara-on-the-Lake will be the host and will be partially closed off to traffic to allow visitors to stroll through the shops of downtown while they enjoy the festivities. Food, wine and great Niagara hospitality from noon to 5 pm, free admission.
