The 4th Annual Victoria Festival of Wine
The Victoria Festival of Wine is confirmed for February 16 & 17,
2005. Tickets for all events go on sale December 1, and will be available
at select wine shops in greater Victoria. For more information, call Cook
Street Village Wines at 250-995-2665 or visit www.victoriafestivalofwine.com.
This year's Festival will feature the finest wines of British Columbia
with two full days of wine tasting events. For the first time, BC's best
will be matched up against an international contingent.
Highlights include the massive public tasting, with regions from around
the globe featured. On day two, BC VQA wines get the spotlight along with
local restaurants unveiling their menus for the annual "Dine around,
stay in town" three-week promotion. There will be many opportunities
to learn more about wine for both beginners and the more experienced.
Daniel Lapp, accompanied by special guests, will close out the schedule
with an evening performance. Proceeds will go to Theatre Skam.
"We definitely have an interesting line up of events and look forward
to producing the show under one roof," says Glenn Barlow, Festival
Director. "Inviting wineries from around the world has always been
a goal and ultimately helps the consumer better appreciate how much our
domestic industry has grown. Whether you're an industry professional,
an avid collector or just an indulgent dabbler, there will be wines that
will excite you."
Ticket venues include: Cook Street & Oak Bay Village Wines, The Wine
Barrel, The VQA shop at Mattick's Farm, Mark Anthony Wine Merchants, The
Strath Wine Ale & Spirit Merchants and Spinnaker's Liquor Store.
