Ridgepoint Riesling 2003

Pale, almost water-white with a minerally, sweet grapefruit and floral perfume; medium-bodied, off-dry and very elegant. A really choice Riesling at a bargain price. ****½
Food match: pork chops and apple sauce; light curried dishes

Jackson-Triggs Meritage Proprietors Grand Reserve 2002
$23.95 (Vintages or Wine Rack stores)
Deep ruby; cedar and currants on the nose; medium-bodied Bordeaux style, well made with a fine tannic structure. ****
Food match: veal chop, leg of lamb

Peninsula Ridge Cabernet 2002
$15.95 (General list)
Ruby colour; cherry and pepper on the nose that opens on the palate to red and blackcurrant flavours; medium-bodied, firm structure in petit chateau style. Dry, savoury finish. Can cellar for 1–2 years. ****
