Canada versus Bordeaux

On October 15th between 10 am and 2 pm there will be an exclusive blind tasting of six red wines each from Bordeaux, British Columbia and Ontario. This tasting will be held at the Vendanges Institute in Ottawa. All proceeds from this tasting will be donated to Grapes for Humanity.

The wines from the Bordeaux region will include five wines from the 1855 classification (four second-growth wines and a highly regarded fifth growth). The sixth wine from Bordeaux will be a Grand Cru Classe from St. Emilion.

All wines will be made from the grapes that are authorized for the production of red Bordeaux, which are often known as "Meritage" or "Cabernet" blends in Canada. All wines will be from the vintages between 1998 and 2002. The specific vintages of specific wines will be released after the tasting.

The cost to participate in this event is $95.00 per person and will include a buffet luncheon sponsored by the Vendange Institute after the tasting. Please follow the instructions at the webpage below to register. Results will be tabulated and released at the luncheon.

Fuller details are available at www.littlefatwino.com/oct15tasting.html.
