Old Vines, New Wines
Raising money for those in need.
"Spain represents one of the world's most exciting areas."
Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate, July 2005
Discover what the experts already know. From the country with the world's largest acreage under cultivation come today's most exciting wines. There's no better value and no greater variety than that offered by the wines from Spain. Taste the difference that the new breed of young viticulture artisans is making through the use of modern winemaking techniques. Sample the wine of bodegas that continue to depend on traditional, time-proven methods. Spain offers a wine for truly every palate and pocketbook.
On September 28th at 6:00 p.m. at Hart House, experience first hand the diversity and quality of wines from every corner of Spain. Sample the offerings of 105 growers representing 36 regions. Delicious appetizers will be provided by ACE Bakery. This is the single largest Spanish wine tasting trade event in Canada under one roof, and should not be missed.
Tickets are $45, and all proceeds from the event will be donated to Second Harvest. Every day, Second Harvest picks up donated, high-quality fresh food, which would otherwise go to waste, and delivers that food to social service programs in Toronto. Second Harvest currently provides food for 12,000 meals a day to children in breakfast programs, seniors on fixed incomes, women fleeing domestic abuse, psychiatric patients, homeless people, and many others who have fallen on hard times.
Please call 416-408-2594 to order tickets. Guests will receive a tax receipt for $20 per ticket.
