For ten days in January the Niagara region is transformed into a wintry wonderland, celebrating one of Canada's most cherished products, Ontario Icewine.
From Gala evenings, ornate ice bars and Icewine Dinners, to roasting chestnuts, late night Icewine grape picking and carriage rides along Niagara's famed wine route, the 11th edition of the Niagara Icewine Festival offers plenty for every taste.

The Niagara Icewine Touring Passport

Weekend One Winter in Wine Country
The 11th Annual Xerox "Images of Winter" Icewine Evening
At the Sheraton on the Falls Hotel in Niagara Falls, Ontario, on Friday, January 13, 2005, 811 pm, $150 Cdn.
This spectacular evening showcases wines from more than 35 of Ontario's premier wineries and features Canada's largest tasting of internationally acclaimed Icewines and other premium wines from the 2004 Vintage of Excellence. Tickets are reasonably priced at $150 Cdn. per person.
The Niagara West Icewine Bar
Saturday and Sunday, January 14 & 15, 12 noon to 5 pm, free admission.
On each weekend of the Niagara Icewine Festival, an Icewine Bar will be constructed in two different unique locations in Niagara. This 30-foot decorative block of ice will be the cornerstone of the outdoor Icewine activities which will include ice carving demonstrations, carriage rides, Niagara cuisine and entertainment, as well as over 20 wineries pouring their highly acclaimed Icewines. On the first weekend, January 14 and 15, Main Street in Jordan welcomes the Icewine Bar, a quaint village nestled in West Niagara at the foot of the escarpment. Food, wine and great Niagara hospitality from noon to 5 pm, free admission.
Weekend Two The Niagara-on-the-Lake Icewine Weekend
The 4th annual "Tastes of Ontario" Icewine Dinner
Presented at the Queen's Landing in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, on Friday, January 20, 710 pm, $175 Cdn.
Ontario's award-winning winemakers present an exclusive complement of wines paired with exceptional Niagara cuisine, presented by the chefs of the Vintage Inns. A panel of oenological and culinary experts will guide guests through a delicate seven course repast, an experience which can only be equaled by the surroundings. Tickets are priced at $175 Cdn. per person.
The Niagara-on-the-Lake Icewine Bar and Café
Saturday and Sunday, January 21 & 22, 12 noon to 5 pm, free admission.
On the second weekend of the Niagara Icewine Festival, the Icewine Bar and Café will be constructed in Niagara-on-the-Lake. These decorative blocks of ice will be the cornerstone of the outdoor Icewine activities, which will include ice carving demonstrations and competitions, carriage rides, Niagara cuisine and entertainment, as well as over 20 wineries pouring their highly acclaimed Icewines. Historic Queen Street in Niagara-on-the-Lake will be the host and partially closed off to traffic to allow visitors to stroll through the shops of downtown while they enjoy the festivities. Food, wine and great Niagara hospitality from noon to 5 pm, free admission.
