Southbrook Winery is a farm winery located at Major MacKenzie and Bathurst, an easy drive from Toronto, and worth a visit if you're looking for pumpkins. Mike Weir Estate Winery is a virtual winery – the wines are made at Creekside Winery in Jordan Station.

Nose: green pepper, grassy, nettle leaves
Taste: green pepper, lemon, cut grass; lively acidity, touch of oak on the finish
Style: white, dry, full-bodied

Southbrook Triomphe Chardonnay 2000

Colour: golden straw
Nose: barnyard, oaky, Burgundy nose, apple, caramel
Taste: mature, sinewy, apple and spice; well evolved with a real white Burgundy flavour; great length
Style: white, dry, medium-full-bodied
Drinkability: now–2007
