Vancouver Playhouse International Wine Festival
February 27 to March 5, 2006
The wine world makes its 28th annual pilgrimage to the Vancouver Playhouse International Wine Festival from February 27 to March 5. And you should too. The fest is the biggest ever, with a record 186 wineries from 15 countries pouring 1,320 wines at 52 events. The International Festival Tasting Room, with 750 wines available, is the centre of the action. Another 570 wines are poured at special events, ranging from a Champagne spree to winery dinners to educational seminars to lunches, brunches and a black tie auction. There is a comprehensive trade program. Wine Regions of France is the fest theme, and Pinot Noir is the varietal focus. All proceeds go to the Playhouse Theatre Company. Tickets are $25 to $275.
