Institute of Masters of Wine - North America (IMW-NA) Announces the World Premiere of its Introductory Seminar

IMW-NA is launching the world premiere of its Introductory Seminar on April 11, 2006, in Toronto, Canada.

This Toronto course is conducted by two North American Masters of Wine, Doug Frost MW, MS of Kansas City, consultant, speaker and author, and Toronto's own Igor Ryjenkov MW.

The three-and-a-half-hour session will offer an overview of the history, philosophy, goals, educational approaches and practices of the world's most respected wine trade credential and the organization that manages it. The seminar will include a practical session with 7 wines: 4 open and 3 exam-condition, both with debriefing, and the theory brainstorming session with 2 essay topics. There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions on any of the topics concerning the MW qualification, the educational path towards it and the study outcomes, both during the seminar and at the end of the seminar during the Q&A session.

Even though it is not a mandatory part of the IMW Educational process, the experience of those involved in the Educational Program has made it clear that this seminar will be extremely helpful to those who intend to enroll to study towards the MW credentials in the near future, or considering it. Although it is open to all interested parties, those with significant wine trade experience and/or wine education background will benefit the most from this seminar.

This is a demand-driven event, part of a series across North America, with an expected frequency of once a year in a given location.

IMW-NA would like to recognize the support of Independent Wine Education Guild of Toronto, Canada's most experienced WSET provider, in the organization of this event.

IMPORTANT!

Those who enroll in the seminar are asked to visit the IMW website, www.masters-of-wine.org, to download the information package from the Education link and carefully review it prior to attending the seminar.

Participants are required to bring 4 standard ISO or similar glasses.
